We removed the make-up bed from our campervan to install a fixed bed and also raise the height of the bed to allow for much greater storage space underneath. So our campervan now has a very comfy fixed bed with great memory foam mattress and also now has a huge amount of storage for everything we could ever want to take with us on our camping trips.
All it took was some 2 x 4 inch wood, screws, no more nails glue, Ikea standard double bed slat kit and a nice Ikea standard double mattress. We are using a few 35L Boxes underneath the bed as storage and for a step to get into bed too.
